Learn Spanish on YouTube? Why not!?Â
Before we start, it’s important to mention that it’s not that easy to find “the best” Spanish teaching “YouTubers” or YouTube-channels.
There’s an increasing number of persons and companies offering their lessons and Spanish education videos on Youtube. Especially the Corona-Crisis forced a lot of Spanish teachers and Spanish schools into the online business – which is good for you if you want to learn Spanish on YouTube.
But it also makes it more and more challenging to decide which YouTube-Channel is the best one.
Before getting deeper into the different Youtube channels, we want to mention that we, in general, respect all the effort and time that these persons spent on making their Spanish learning videos.Â
In our review, we use four categories:Â
- Learning-Factor (How much Spanish do you learn?)
- Entertainment- Factor (Is it fun to watch the videos?)
- Beginner-Factor (Does the provider offer Spanish lessons for beginners on Youtube?)
- Quality-Factor (Is there a good audio, video quality, subtitles, etc.?)
¡Vamos!
“Butterfly Spanish” – Learn Spanish on YouTube with Ana

Since 2012, “Butterfly Spanish – Learn Spanish with Ana” is one of these YouTube channels that we find professional, sympathetic, and very helpful.
For more than seven years, Ana is offering her videos on her channel, “Butterly Spanish.” She’s a very energetic and enthusiastic woman that teaches you a lot about the Spanish language.
About 800.000 subscribers (with almost 40 million views!) watch her videos about vocabulary, grammar, and cultural aspects, and there must be a reason for it!
She has an excellent sense of the typical problems of almost every Spanish learner. Her explanations are mostly in English, and the videos are primarily for beginners and intermediate learners. On her webpage, you can donate and subscribe to her newsletter.
- Learning Factor
- Entertainment Factor
- Beginner Factor
- Quality Factor
Our opinion: “Butterfly Spanish” is a “must watch” for the serious Spanish-learner. If you want to repeat specific Spanish grammar topics, broaden your vocabulary and work on your pronunciation, you shouldn’t miss it!
You can also watch many audios for Spanish listening practice, quizzes, verb conjugation tables, reading practice, conversations by native speakers, and more.Â
The videos mainly don’t cover more complicated themes, so you should give it a go if you’re a beginner and want to learn Spanish on YouTube.Â

Learn Spanish on YouTube with – “Superholly”
“Superholly” isn’t only a charismatic young women from the US but also a real “language nerd.” She speaks Spanish with a perfect mexican accent and is probably what we would call: “The next generation of Language-YouTubers.”
With more than 4 million subscribers and over 200.000.000 million views, she is perhaps the most successful of them. She also teaches English to Spanish speaking people.

Her videos mainly don’t cover the usual Spanish grammar and vocabulary topics you might usually watch if you want to learn Spanish on YouTube.Â
Her channel is about herself, her life, fashion, funny situations, and particular topics about the Spanish language and culture with English subtitles.
For example:
- Learning Factor
- Entertainment Factor
- Beginner Factor
- Quality Factor
Our opinion:Â Her videos are very entertaining and interesting, but they’re not suitable for those who would like to start to learn Spanish on YouTube.
Anyway, they are an excellent way to practice your Spanish listening comprehension and broaden your knowledge about the Spanish language. If you’re a language nerd, you will love her channel!

“Spring Spanish”- Learn Spanish on YouTube with “Chunks”
“Spring Spanish” is a relatively new channel on YouTube. Founded in Mai 2020, they have about 9000 subscribers (June 2021).
We like their concept: Five Spanish teachers from different countries publish five lessons on YouTube every week. They focus on their “Conversation Based Chunking” method, which means you won’t study Spanish grammar charts and vocabulary lists (read more about the Chunking method here).
The goal is to absorb Spanish language patterns to understand native speakers, form fluent sentences, and have conversations from the very beginning. The teachers are from Venezuela and México.

- Learning Factor
- Entertainment Factor
- Beginner Factor
- Quality Factor
Our opinion:Â Their method is very motivating and well structured.
Also, we like the fact that the five different teachers sometimes explain things in English. In general, the videos are very suitable for people who want to start to learn Spanish on YouTube.Â
We believe that you could make significant progress only by watching their videos each day for 15-20 minutes. They also offer “live” Spanish training on their website.

Resume
We’re genuinely impressed by the number of high-quality options that exist if you want to learn Spanish on YouTube. And we covered only three of them!
Sometimes we feel that it’s hard to choose between all the different YouTube-Channels and videos. You can get lost easily.
As SAY ZONTE!, we recommend thinking about what you need to improve your Spanish!
Are you an absolute beginner, starting from zero? Do you need to improve your listening comprehension? Are you just looking for entertainment and broadening your knowledge about Spanish and Latin American culture?
Don’t get lost and confused about all the options that are offered to you.
We still believe that sometimes “face-to-face” Spanish lessons (online or in “real life”) are the best option, especially if you need a structure in your learning process. If you want to learn Spanish on YouTube only, you probably will be disappointed.
