What is part of the tour?
Going Local
Starting from El Zonte, this immersive pupusa-making experience takes place at a traditional local eatery (comedor típico) in the district of Chiltiupán, located in the heart of the Balsam Mountain Range. During the journey, we will stop to see the local corn fields, the primary raw material for making pupusas.
Making & Enjoying pupusas
The activity features a hands-on workshop where you will learn about the ingredients and master the entire process of preparing pupusas, the signature national dish of El Salvador. A local 'pupusera' will explain all the details, ingredients and little secrets to us – in Spanish, of course (our guides will help out in English if necessary!).

How long does it take?
The tour lasts 2-3 hours. We will leave from El Zonte (Esencia Nativa) at 2 pm and coming back around 4:30 pm.
Itinerary
- 1:50 pm: Meeting at SAY ZONTE! (Esencia Nativa)
- 2:00 pm: Departure to Chiltiupán
- 2:30 pm: Arrival at Chiltiupán
- 2:30 - 4:00 pm: Pupusa Workshop
- 4:00 pm: Departure from Chiltiupán
- 4:30 pm: Arrival at SAY ZONTE! (Esencia Nativa)

- Cancellations (>12 hours): Reschedule or 75% refund.
- Cancellations (<12 hours): 100% charged without refund.
- Adverse weather: Tour is rescheduled or refunded.
